a bit about Alice & Sam

We are Alice and Sam and met in Cornwall 18 years ago, we love working together as vets and as parents to our 3 children and 2 dogs.

This service has been in our minds for years, there have been so many times it seemed so needed but yet not available.

​

Witnessing the grief held by owners when their beloved pet and friend is coming to the end of life and seeing the distress of having to take them into a veterinary clinic which was never a place of calm for them, has been a prompt to make this service happen.

​

In that moment we want them to feel safe, loved and comfortable, and home provides these things. We know personally how difficult it can be to say goodbye to an animal family member, so we want to make the process as peaceful as possible for everyone.

​

As practising vets, we have had many requests from clients in our practices and outside of our practices to have a home visit for euthanasia. All vets will always try their hardest to be able to do this for clients but sometimes it just isn't feasible with other on-site emergencies and commitments. We fully empathise with owners that don't want to feel like they are making a fuss by asking for such an important need.

We have seen friends struggle with the decision to euthanase their pets and helped them along the journey and we know we will imminently have to face this challenge with our 14 year old Lurcher, Myrtle, which sits heavy in our hearts.
